Kathleen A. Van De Loo
President
Kathleen A. Van De Loo is the founder and president of the Association Development Group, Inc. - an Albany based association management and communications firm. The company was established in 1996, after ten years of working exclusively for government relations law firms. Ms. Van De Loo has dedicated her entire career to meeting the communications and organizational needs of state and national professional trade associations and coalitions.
From 1992 - 1996, Kathleen served as Communications Director for Bogdan and Faist, P.C. – ranked as one of New York State's top ten lobbying firms. From 1988 - 1992, Ms. Van De Loo worked as the Director of the Government Relations Department for the Albany-based general practice law firm O'Connell and Aronowitz. In these capacities, she provided communications and organizational management to statewide associations with an emphasis on communications, coalition building, advocacy campaigns, membership communications and development, conference and seminar planning, and non-dues revenue enhancement.
From 1992-1995, Kathleen was actively involved in political campaign work. She is a 1987 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, where she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications, with concentrations in journalism and political science. While in College, she worked as a legislative intern for Congressman Stan Lundine, who is a former New York State Lieutenant Governor.
Kathleen served on the Board of Directors of the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE), and currently chairs the Association Leadership Academy Committee. She was Secretary to the Board of Directors for the Catholic Charities Caregivers Respite Agency. Kathleen was an active volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House, and a mentor for the Albany School of Humanities and Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program.
ADG received ESSAE's highest honor, The George Burton Award, for the company's outstanding contributions to the association management field.
Kathleen and her husband Joe live in the Capital District, and have three wonderful children.
