Kathleen A. Van De Loo is the founder and president of the Association Development Group, Inc. - an Albany based association management and communications firm. The company was established in 1996, after ten years of working exclusively for government relations law firms. Ms. Van De Loo has dedicated her entire career to meeting the communications and organizational needs of statewide associations and coalitions.
From 1992 - 1996, Kathleen served as Communications Director for Bogdan and Faist, P.C. – which was one of New York State's top ten lobbying firms. From 1988 - 1992, Ms. Van De Loo worked as the Director of the Government Relations Department for the Albany-based general practice law firm of O'Connell and Aronowitz. In these capacities, she provided communications and organizational management to statewide associations with an emphasis on legislative initiatives, coalition building, grass roots campaigns, membership communications and development, conference and seminar planning, and non-dues revenue enhancement.
From 1992-1995, Kathleen was actively involved in political campaign work. She is a 1987 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, where she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications, with concentrations in journalism and political science. While in College, she worked as a legislative intern for Congressman Stan Lundine, who is a former New York State Lieutenant Governor.
Kathleen serves on the Board of Directors of the Empire State Society of Association Executives (ESSAE), and currently chairs the Association Leadership Academy Committee. She is Secretary to the Board of Directors for the Catholic Charities Caregivers Respite Agency. Kathleen was an active volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House, and a mentor for the Albany School of Humanities and Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program.
Kathleen and her husband Joe live in the
Capital District, and have three wonderful children.
